Period action-drama Bodyguards And Assassins took home eight awards at the prestigious Hong Kong Film Awards ceremony on Sunday, 18th April 2010. The film picked up the awards for Best Film, Best Director, Best Supporting Actor, Best Action Choreography, Best Cinematography, Best Art Direction, Best Costume and Makeup Design and Best Original Film Score.
Further notable winners include: Alex Law (Best Screenplay - Echoes Of The Rainbow), Simon Yam (Best Actor - Echoes Of The Rainbow), Wai Ying-hung (Best Actress - At The End Of Daybreak), Michelle Ye (Best Supporting Actress - Accident) and Aarif Lee (Best New Performer - Echoes Of The Rainbow).
Departures (Japan) picked up the award for Best Asian Film, whilst the Lifetime Achievement Award went to Lau Kar-leung (The Seven Swords, The Banquet, etc.)
