“I love world cinema because it opens up possibilities in filmmaking and storytelling that Anglo-American cinema struggles to access due to commercial pressures. Much of the output is as varied as the countries that make it, and it is still possible to see a cultural identity within the work. As a screenwriter myself, my own early opportunities in the industry came from foreign-language cinema, and I long to give back some of the pleasure it has given me.”

“I'm a screenwriter and playwright working in the UK industry. I used to work for Bollywood, and developed a taste for world cinema in doing so. I also teach workshops in fight choreography, and am a sessional lecturer in Journalism, delivering the NUJ qualification to prisoners.”
