NEWS: Bollywood Film Director Receives Honorary Degree
Multi-award winning Bollywood film director and producer Yash Chopra will receive an Honorary Degree (DLit) from the School of Oriental & African Studies (SOAS) at one of its annual graduation ceremonies on Friday, 23rd July 2010.
To celebrate his achievements, SOAS will host an exclusive Q&A session with Yash Chopra for its alumni and friends.
Professor Rachel Dwyer, Professor of Indian Cultures and Cinema at SOAS and biographer of Chopra, will chair the session. Members of the audience will have the opportunity to ask him questions about his illustrious career.
For years Chopra has been one of the most charismatic and powerful filmmakers in the Indian film industry. His name is synonymous with the glamour of the romantic film and a certain style of beauty within Indian culture.
The ceremony will take place at Brunei Gallery Lecture Hall, London.
