Songwriter Serge Gainsbourg's directorial debut ( and by all accounts his best film) takes a potentially pretentious premise (polysexual menage-à-trois in a desert wasteland) and makes it work via a shocking but funny black humour, from the first scene where a dead crow hits Dalessandro's windscreen (he swears and hits the windscreen wiper, smearing the damn thing all over the window!) - most of the other stuff that is funny is too rude to mention, though - you just have to see it!
