Film: Life Is Beautiful
I know this is also tragic holocaust film, but there is no getting away from the comedy aspect, too. In fact, the comedy is what increases the impact of the horror, and quite possibly vice versa.
The first part of the film made me belly laugh with its perfectly executed slap-stick, and its perfectly timed dovetailing comedic scenes. This then gives way to a more dark and sombre, though still humorous second half that culminates in an ending that will stay with you.
